Overview






MDVIP, an innovative leader in the healthcare industry, is seeking a remote-based Medical Billing Specialist to provide MDVIP-affiliated physician practices training and support to optimize their revenue cycle performance.  Requires prior experience using athenaCollector and the ability to develop an understanding of each practice’s system set-up, office workflow, and practice goals to make innovative recommendations to further ensure their ongoing success. Support and training are provided telephonically, by email communication, and via web-based screen sharing sessions.

Responsibilities






Training and Support Activities

  1. Performs initial athenaCollector training to physicians adopting athena 
    1. Following an established training agenda, demonstrates best-practices and advises on suggested workflow modifications to better optimize the revenue cycle performance.
    2. Monitors enrollment/credentialing statuses as the transition progresses and provides support as needed.
    3. Monitors post go-live workflow dashboard.
  2. Assesses and provides ongoing training and support for existing athenaCollector practices to optimize workflow.  
    1. Assesses training and support needs of existing practices based on practice requests.
    2. Tracks billing metrics through data analysis.
    3. Serves as a key resource for support and implementation of athenaCollector.
  3. Completes administrative responsibilities resulting from the role.
    1. Updates Salesforce with training checklist and recommended follow up.
    2. Enters cases/tasks for each training and support conducted.
  4. Provides team support such as: 
    1. Captures and shares critical information with internal management team.
    2. Develops approved communications to share with network physicians.
  5. Participates in ongoing learning and development training.
    1. Increases personal job knowledge and professional growth through self-study or other trainings.
    2. Passes and maintains athenaCollector certification.
    3. Stays up to date on changes in regulations for pay for performance programs.

Qualifications






Education / Experience / Knowledge:

Associate degree in a relevant discipline from two-year college or university and at least two years practice management software experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience where two years related experience equals one year of schooling. 

  • Specific experience using athenaCollector  required.
  • Solid understanding of the medical revenue cycle billing process required.
  • Solid understanding of billing concepts highly desirable.

Telecommuter roles:  This role is approved for home-based work, from the location identified at the time of hire.  Remote staff must have an adequate, confidential workspace available to efficiently perform their job functions. Any change of work location, even on a short-term or interim basis, must be reviewed by the Supervisor and HR and approved at the sole discretion and approval of executive leadership.
