Description

SUMMARY
SLWM, a tech-enabled, PE-backed marketing solutions provider, is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support financial operations for our growing company. Based in Lombard, IL, this hybrid role offers both remote and in-office flexibility. With 4-7 years of experience, the ideal candidate will bring expertise in general ledger activities, month-end closings, and financial reporting to support SLWM’s innovative services across print, branded merchandise, and apparel. A CPA or CPA candidate is preferred to ensure GAAP compliance and accuracy in financial processes.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Perform general ledger accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, fixed assets, and month-end close processes.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and ad-hoc analysis to support management decision-making. Provide key clients with financial reporting for outsourced projects.
  • Account Reconciliations: Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts, including cash, AR, AP, inventory, and accruals, ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analyses and identify trends, providing insights to support business strategies.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Support compliance with GAAP standards and internal controls, working to maintain audit-readiness.
  • Support Audits: Assist with all audit processes, preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries from our CPA firm and bank.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Provide back-up and support to other team members with cash flow management, treasury functions, business license filing, cash receipts and disbursements.  Other ad-hoc projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Experience: 4-7 years of experience in accounting, with strong general ledger and financial reporting skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Certification: CPA or active CPA candidate preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and ERP systems.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
    • Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills to effectively present financial insights.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS 

  • Prior Full Cycle book-keeping or monthly general ledger experience
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Professional Communication between internal and external contacts
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good organizational skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

 

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full time, Exempt position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:30.  More than 40 hours per week are required during peak times.
