Lumos is looking for a full-time Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Expenditures! The Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Expenditures will serve as a key support partner to the Network and Operations teams and cross-functional groups across the company.  The position is responsible for the creation, support, organization, coordination and presentation of data and analyses relating to capital projects and budgets. This position leads the financial analysis and reporting of all Capex activities related to outside plant construction, providing proactive insights on how to remain within budget.  This role will bring value by helping drive insights that allow the Senior Leadership team to make informed and thoughtful business decisions.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare weekly project status updates and monthly project expenditure reports
  • Monitor capital expenditures against established budgets
  • Deliver monthly results to Network and Operations team as well as Lumos Senior Leadership
  • Deliver required input for the Monthly Operations Report presented to the Board of Directors
  • Reconcile project transactions by comparing and correcting data
  • Identify trends and recommend actions based on sound analysis
  • Partner with teams to clearly interpret cost variance drivers
  • Opening and managing capital projects in the company ERP system
  • Assist in development of annual budget for Network and Operations organizations
  • Compile, analyze, aggregate, quality check and report capital projects
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required                                  

  • Strong project and time management skills required to efficiently move between multiple, concurrent projects
  • Advanced analytical skills; must be able to work through complex issues with a methodical approach; analyzing complex issues, distilling and communicating relevant aspects. The team members will be expected to proactively drive process improvement
  • Organizational skills, Strong communication skills, change management mindset, passion for developing and supporting peers, strategic thinking and execution, problem solving, emotional intelligence & passion for learning
  • Advanced MS Office Suite knowledge and usage; must have the ability to learn and work in internal company applications
  • High degree of comfort when working with large amounts of data from multiple sources
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Other Experience & Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a combination of coursework and experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience forecasting, tracking and reporting sales and expense budgets.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sedentary periods using computers, keyboard, and other peripherals.
  • Near-constant use of sight, speech, hearing, comprehension, and reasoning.
