Job Title: Senior/Staff Accountant
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Finance
Reports to: Senior Accounting Manager
Location: Remote or Hybrid depending on the geographical location of the candidate from our HQ office.
SUMMARY
At JustFoodForDogs, we’re on a mission to improve the length and quality of life for as many pets as possible. We’re looking for an experience Staff Accountant who has a growth mindset and is full of big ideas to help deliver on this mission for pets nationwide.
WHAT YOU’D DO
· Monthly inventory count reporting, journal entry and analysis.
· Analysis of monthly COGS variances and logistic expenses.
· Prepare and maintain assigned monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and input journal entries accordingly.
· Create assigned audit schedules and provide requested selection support for interim/year-end audit.
· Assist Cost Accounting and Senior Accounting Managers with various accounting projects and ad-hoc tasks.
· Improve accounting procedures to make tasks more efficient.
· Ensures compliance with all internal controls.
SKILLSET AND QUALITIES
· Displays vast knowledge of math and exceptional accounting skills.
· Has excellent critical thinking as well as analytical skills.
· Exhibits strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology.
· Possesses exceptional organizational skills and makes efficient use of time.
· Displays the ability to pay close attention to detail.
· Demonstrates food interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Has a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
· 2-4 years of working experience in accounting or finance.
· Experience with an ERP system is required.
· Muti-site retail and wholesale experience, preferred but not required.
· Advanced Excel skills/ Excel power query
