JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Real Estate Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial analysis and modeling for HCI’s commercial real estate investments. This role involves assessing investment opportunities, preparing detailed reports, and aiding in strategic insights to optimize portfolio performance alongside daily transactional volume and monthly closings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct detailed financial analysis of real estate investments
- Assist in the preparation of comprehensive reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders, summarizing financial performance, risks, and opportunities
- Prepare and analyze budget/forecast for Greenleaf
- Assist in market research and benchmarking to assess market trends, competitive positioning, and potential investment risks
- Assist in special projects with senior management as needed
- Monitor and analyze financial performance of existing properties, providing recommendations for performance improvement or re-positioning
- Prepare standard monthly journal entries, division reports and audit work papers
- Complete monthly closing guide and reconciliations for applicable subsidiaries
- Document and improve divisional accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a Real Estate Financial Analyst or similar role
- Expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis specific to real estate preferred
- Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) experience preferred
- Property management experience preferred
- Construction (job costing) experience preferred
- Substantial knowledge of US GAAP, especially topics related to real estate, construction and development, laws and regulations, and property management
- Familiar with internal controls in commercial real estate business
- Detail oriented, committed to professionalism
- Team oriented, proactive approach to all situations
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA preferred

HYBRID WORKING & COLLABORATION WEEKS
To foster HCI’s commitment to creating a collaborative work environment, remote workers will be required to report to a central office location for one week every quarter for collaboration, team building, and educational exercises. Attendance during collaboration weeks is a vital component of our team culture, and therefore mandatory unless exceptions are approved through Human Resources. Additionally, employees may be asked to report to the office outside of collaboration weeks as project requirements, team meetings, or other organizational needs that necessitate in-person collaboration occur.
