About the Job


Tailored Brands’ Enterprise Analytics team is central to our data-forward strategy, driving insights into every aspect of our business, supporting stakeholders across the organization, and creating a legendary customer experience.


Our Enterprise Analytics team is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist who will lead the planning and execution of the data science and machine learning roadmap to support our Tailored Brands marketing outcomes.  You will work with stakeholders across the organization, including Data Engineering teams. You will leverage your technical, analytical and business acumen to help data driven decision making. Projects will range from long term data products that utilize advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities to short-term analytics that help stakeholders with tactical day to day decision making.  You will have the opportunity to work on high priority data science and analytics projects that move the needle within the organization and witness the impact of your work firsthand.

What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities



  • Partner with business stakeholders on marketing and customer analytics, delivering actionable strategic and tactical recommendations in a consultative approach to support business objectives.

  • Develop a roadmap of prediction and optimization capabilities to improve marketing and customer initiatives such as Life Time Value (LTV), Media Mix Model (MMM), Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA), propensity to spend, and discount sensitivity.

  • Partner with the other ML Scientists and Engineers on the team to produce machine learning models, statistical models, and complex statistical analyses and productionalize them.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Data Engineering to develop ongoing improvements to data quality, standardized definitions, governance, tools, and approaches. 

  • Coordinate deployment and implementation of marketing models

  • Evaluate opportunities to enhance data and capabilities by identifying 3rd party resources, systems, and tools.

  • Design, validate, and test data driven decision making processes and strategies.

  • Deliver actionable strategic and tactical recommendations in a consultative approach to support business objectives

  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously based on what is most impactful to the business and our customers

  • Present work in a clear, interpretable, and applicable way that can be shared widely, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.

  • Partner across Analytics to share learnings, align on methodologies and leverage best practices.


Skills & Experience



  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, with progressive responsibility initiating, executing, and presenting projects for cross-functional teams.

  • 3+ years of experience with marketing domain data and machine learning solutions

  • Fluent with complex SQL queries and dataset transformations on large datasets.

  • Fluent with applied statistics and machine learning using Python and/or R

  • Expertise in advanced analytics methods like decision science, optimization, supervised and unsupervised learning, and forecasting with the ability to recognize when they may add value for stakeholders.

  • Proven ability of delivering highly complex analytics projects involving methodology development, analysis, strategic recommendations, and presentation of the findings.

  • Proficient with understanding and creating data pipelines using SQL

  • Familiar with A/B testing process, outcomes and tools

  • Familiar with create visual tools and dashboards using Tableau or other BI tools

  • Demonstrated project management skills - comfortable working in Scrum, Kanban approaches, and traditional PM practices. Experience with JIRA, GitHub, Confluence tools.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; act as a bridge among business, analytics and engineering teams. 

  • Confidence to scrutinize and share the limitations of our analyses when the data isn’t perfect.

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years relevant work experience or a Master’s degree in applied Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands



  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time 

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily

  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally

  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment

  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a remote office location.

$135,000-185,000.  This salary range is specific to Colorado, New York, California, and Washington, and may differ in other locations. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 10% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
