Get to Know the Opportunity:

The successful candidate will support the departmental head in managing investment accounting close, investment operations, financial analysis process and reporting under US GAAP, Management and Statutory basis for Voya Consolidated General Account Invested Assets. The portfolio comprises of Derivatives, Commercial Mortgage Loans, Fixed Income Securities and Alternatives.

Please Note:  Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule. 

The Contributions You'll make:

  • Lead and manage accounting close process for company’s Derivatives hedge book.

  • Lead and manage investment reconciliation between investment sub-ledger, general ledger and accounting warehouse related to Derivatives positions.

  • Lead new Derivative security types/hedge strategy setup in Derivative accounting application and general ledger mapping.

  • Ensure proper accounting and reporting under US GAAP basis, Management basis, and Statutory basis of accounting for Derivatives positions.

  • Maintains relationships with external service providers, custodians and investment managers.

  • Investment cash reconciliation on a daily basis to ensure receivable and payables are current.

  • Lead and overseas production of monthly investment packages and key drivers behind investment performances for both USGAAP and Statutory accounting bases.

  • Lead hedge effectiveness testing procedures to ensure compliance with USGAAP and Stat guidance.

  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to invested assets and Derivatives.

  • Lead and manages delivery of audit documentation and provides support to internal and external auditors.

  • Researches, interprets and implements applicable accounting guidance, pronouncements and SEC and other regulatory requirements.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance. 

  • 5+ years of strong investment accounting and reporting experience under both US GAAP and Statutory accounting bases. 

  • Strong knowledge of investment products in particular derivatives, commercial mortgage loans, fixed income securities and alternatives.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Derivative accounting experience highly preferred

  • CPA/CFA track preferred but not required

  • Oracle cloud experience is plus

  • Project experience involving investment accounting system implementation

  • Strong knowledge of investment platform like PAM, Strategy, FINDUR, Aladdin

  • Strong project management leadership skills. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, while meeting deadlines. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, MS Access, other report writing tools. (SQL is plus)

  • Proven track record of process enhancement.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
