Job Description Summary

Our Finance team is looking for a candidate to assist the Company as a Senior Financial Analyst. The Senior Financial Analyst will be involved with all aspects of the Company’s finance function, primarily involved in understanding the services performed and client operations, including training and education of system and tax requirements and procedures.

The Senior Financial Analyst will assist the Company in managing the oversight of the indirect tax software and should be actively looking for ways to improve processes. The role will also oversee various other business driven, finance related processes such as oversight of tax exemption certificates, assistance with direct tax processes, state compliance requirements, account reconciliations, and assist with special projects.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pay: $90,000.
  • Indirect Tax
  • Partner with third-party service providers and corporate tax team to prepare, review and remit indirect taxes.
  • Collaborate with IT, Corporate Tax, and Billing teams to update and maintain the current tax engine integration, including verification of tax rates, jurisdictional registrations, and taxation decision rules
  • Team with Client Services and Billing on client setup and confirmation of tax engine calculations
  • Assist with tax-related audits including gathering support from Client Services and Billing, providing operational descriptions to auditors and other members of the tax team.
  • Respond to internal and external sales & use tax inquiries by collaborating with Client Services, Billing, and Corporate Tax.
  • Implement an indirect tax education and training program for the Company.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for indirect tax accounts.
  • Manage customer exemption certificates and perform periodic audits of customer exemptions on file.
  • Update and maintain rules in the Company’s purchase order system by collaborating with the procurement team.
  • Direct Tax
  • Assist the Controller on information requested from other corporate functions to ensure adherence to federal and state regulatory compliance.
  • State Compliance
  • Assist as needed with various state compliance requirements including the filing and maintenance of business certificates.
  • Ownership of the Company’s required audit and reporting for Puerto Rico operations.
  • Special Projects
  • Assist the finance team with various ad-hoc special projects – will include projects involving master-data, system changes, and others.
  • Implement/Enhance process improvements and automation within the finance function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA qualification preferred.
  • Requisite knowledge on US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and experience with direct and indirect taxation.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently are key to success.

Knowledge, Experience & Personal Qualities:

  • 3+ years of experience with public multi-national corporation, or combined experience with CPA firms
  • Exposure to indirect tax compliance requirements and associated software (e.g. Vertex, OneSource, Sovos, etc.)
  • Strong relationship builder with the ability to influence and partner across all functions within the organization.
  • Possess strong character and integrity, value respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Effective communicator adept at translating and explaining indirect tax and other financial concepts to non-accounting business personnel in non-technical terminology.
  • Driven self-starter with strong self-responsibility and ability to operate autonomously.
  • Creative and resourceful thinker with strong problem-solving and prioritization abilities.
  • Experience with ERP Systems: JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP, Workday, etc.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $76,500.00 - $90,000.00
