Senior Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will prepare, analyze, and summarize company financial results, prepare and analyze budgets and forecasts, and provide ad hoc analysis on various issues impacting NSA’s performance and profitability.  The Senior Analyst will help provide support and team leadership for the quarterly public filings, board materials and quarterly financial results meetings with management. This position in based in our corporate headquarters located in Greenwood Village, CO.

Reports to:  Manager, Financial Planning

Principal Job Duties:

• Financial Planning and Analysis:  develop and manage financial models, budgets, and forecasts to support NSA’s short- and long-term planning goals.


• Budgeting and Forecasting:  assist in the planning and execution of NSA’s annual budgeting process, which includes the preparation of materials, analysis of results, communication/training with our PROs, and integration of final budgets into the accounting reporting system.  And provide similar support for NSA’s quarterly forecast.


• Financial and Performance Metric Reporting:  prepare and present regular monthly and quarterly financial reports including:  quarterly corporate performance reports, powerpoint deck updates, and other ad hoc analysis and presentations.


• Stakeholder Communication:  collaborate with various NSA departments including operations, accounting, and acquisitions, to gather financial data and insights.


• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Strong initiative, decision making, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.


• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing analytical demands during peak analysis periods.

Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent Excel and modeling skills.


• Ability to read and interpret financial statements.


• Understanding of valuation, partnership waterfalls and capital sources.


• Ability to independently create, validate, present and implement ideas; Intellectual curiosity.


• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop cross-departmental relationships


• Familiarity with Budgeting and Business Intelligence tools are a plus (Power BI, Workday Adaptive)


• Ability to work independently or as a team, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Education and Experience

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Real Estate or similar field of study


• Minimum 3 years experience in an analyst or equivalent role

Compensation Range: $85,000 - $99,000 

Reports to: Manager, Financial Planning
