About The Position:
The Senior Accountant is expected to lead the financial and operational reporting needs of all Greater Nevada companies. The Senior Accountant is also expected to drive the research, development and resolution recommendation to problems occurring within the accounting department. They will also participate in special projects and initiate workflow process improvements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Proficient in all areas of accounting, conducting daily accounting functions independently and providing leadership and guidance to staff accountants and accounting specialists.
- Participate in the selection, training and mentoring of accounting staff
- Interact with auditors and regulators including coordinating requests and ensuring provided documentation is accurate.
- Ensure that all daily accounting activities and financial statements are prepared in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory agency requirements
- Prepare accurate consolidated monthly financial statements, operations reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing relevant information. Identify abnormal activities and ensure that the responsible departments are notified and consulted when discrepancies are identified.
- Prepare meaningful commentary for executive leadership explaining variances and financial trends.
- Draft technical accounting analysis and conclusions for review and approval by the Accounting Manager as needed.
- Prepare quarterly regulatory reporting and footnote disclosures to support annual financial statements.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and create efficiencies which can be utilized by all accounting staff using tools such as excel, monarch and financial preparation software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 3 years of experience in Accounting. (Financial institution experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.

Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of your job, you may regularly be required to sit and use a keyboard, multiple monitors, mouse, and telephone (including repetitive motions with hands, fingers, arms, etc.) for extended periods of time. You may also frequently be required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, bend, and kneel.
- You may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Location and Travel Requirements
The Senior Accountant can be Remote within Nevada, or at one of our office locations in Reno or Carson City, Nevada.
- You must be willing and able to travel to locales other than the normal location for the position, including overnight trips as appropriate for your job responsibilities.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have access to a reliable vehicle.
Compensation & Benefits
- $70,000.00 - $97,000.00 per year
- Compensation is dependent on experience
- Medical, dental, and vision plans, where we cover 90% of employee costs and about 75% of the costs for their dependents
