Position Overview: Medical Writers within the Clinical Communications team at MJH Life Sciences, play a vital role in developing educational content for healthcare professional audiences. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including peer-reviewed manuscripts, slide decks, and video-based tools, while collaborating with leading experts across diverse fields. The work of medical writers contribute to creating high-quality, scientifically accurate content that helps improve patient care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct extensive literature reviews on various disease states, therapeutic advancements, and clinical data.
- Comprehend and apply relevant evidenced-based medical literature, clinical practice guidelines, and disease-state information for the development of content across various therapeutic areas (eg, identify levels of evidence, clinical trial data, clinical utility of therapeutic choices and unmet needs in treatment landscapes, product-specific education)
- Develop relevant, accurate, and high-quality content for digital, print, video, and event deliverables, ensuring adherence to in-house and AMA style guidelines.
- Write, edit, and revise content independently throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating feedback from faculty, peer reviewers, and internal teams.
- Ensure the scientific and clinical accuracy of all materials through comprehensive fact-checking of referenced literature.
- Support the preparation of promotional educational materials that comply with pharmaceutical company standards and FDA regulations.
- Attend professional conferences and events to capture key presentation highlights and create content for project deliverables (minimal travel required; 2-3 days per month).
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including internal professional services, to ensure project success. Interface regularly with clients, key thought leaders, and faculty during meetings and project discussions.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in a healthcare-related field (life sciences, biomedical sciences) or a clinical degree (PharmD).
- 2+ years of medical writing experience in the medical communications industry
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple timelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other industry software (Adobe Acrobat tools, InCopy).
