Responsibilities






The Junior Accountant selected will report to the Controller and assist with various aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Initial training will be in the office, but can move to a more remote/hybrid type role once training is complete.

 

Duties of the Junior Accountant will include the following:

  • Assist Controller with all accounting operational transactions including Billing and Collection, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
  • Assist with the coordination and preparation of regulatory tax setup and reporting
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close process
  • Work with our Accounting, Contracts, and HR teams with the purpose of ensuring correct system setups in preparing the system for use.
  • Assist with setup and configuration tasks such as users, resources, vendors, and jobs.
  • Ensure data import processes are validated for accuracy.
  • Reconciliation of NAV information with other company systems such as Paylocity.
  • Assist with system reorganization.
  • Discuss software processes with the end users to enable effective use of software features and functions in the business environment.








Qualifications






The Ideal Junior Accountant will have the following experience:

  • Experience as Accounting Clerk or Bookkeeper
  • College degree preferred
  • Experience with State/local Tax setup as well as business License Reporting (preferred)
  • Experience with government contractor (preferred)
  • Experience working with payroll
  • Experience with Paylocity
  • Experience with Microsoft NAV or Salesforce (preferred)
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Experience with Client Billing and Accounts Payable
  • Understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Ability to meet and establish deadlines.
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of applications software (excel and accounting software).
  • Knowledge of corporate accounting, including indirect pools and payroll.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Must be dependable and a self-starter.
