How you contribute to our success
Guide corporate wellness program participants through education based on employer expectations and/or lifestyle and nutrition-based coaching sessions.
Your Responsibilities to the team, our clients and community
- Provide education to participants, via phone calls or video-conferencing, to review results and program expectations based on employer requirements.
- Engage wellness program participants to create awareness and drive behavior change throughout ongoing coaching sessions resulting in reduced or prevented health risk factors.
- Review and provide prescriptive nutrition recommendations to participants based on individual needs.
- Assess patients' educational needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and other care team members.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Support development, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition focused education programs and materials.
- Stay current with the latest dietitian research, trends, and best practices to ensure the education program is based on the most recent evidence.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, education sessions, and progress.
- Support reporting and documentation as required for quality assurance and program evaluation.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience with direct patient coaching, counseling or education
- Basic Listening Sequence skills (Attending and Empathy, Observation, Questions, Encouraging/Paraphrasing/Summarizing, Reflecting Feelings)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to leverage the experience of other team members to quickly identify gaps, risks, or opportunities when faced with challenging situations.
- Ability to utilize multiple technology platforms to deliver coaching services efficiently through virtual or telephonic platforms.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft applications, information security principles, and data reporting tools.
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus

Experience & Education needed for success in this role
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences (or related field), psychology, or counseling
- Board certified as a Registered Dietician by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics
- Board certified as a Health and Wellness Coach by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC)
- 1-3 years of health coaching/health education experience
Physical & Working Environment
- Normal mental and visual attention is required. Normal office working conditions requiring continuous use of both hands. Sitting most of the time, may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
- Position requires occasional bending, squatting, twisting and climbing stairs. There are minimal exposures to workplace hazards.
- To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform the essential functions.
- Position is available for remote workers
- Must be willing to work some early morning, some evening hours and occasional weekends.
- Ability to deliver in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area is a plus
