Job Summary 

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Data Scientist to join our team and play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining robust data science projects. This role requires expertise in data wrangling and modeling, accompanied by a strong analytical mindset and the ability to collaborate across teams to support data-driven decision-making. The Data Scientist will work on model selection, development, testing and maintenance, creating solutions that meet stakeholder needs. This position is ideal for candidates passionate about leveraging data to drive organizational success, particularly in industries like healthcare where data accuracy and security are paramount. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Data Analysis & Visualization: 

  • Collect, clean, and perform exploratory analysis on large datasets to extract insights. 
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Develop automated reporting solutions to support business intelligence efforts. 

Machine Learning & AI Implementation: 

  • Develop predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses in Dataiku to solve complex business problems. 
  • Design and deploy models in development and production environments. 
  • Works with various types of data, including structured and unstructured, for use as model features. 
  • Works with large language model (LLM) or natural language processing (NLP)-related features. 

Collaboration & Engagement: 

  • Work closely with Data Engineers to ensure data access, quality, storage, and processing. 
  • Collaborate with App Development teams to integrate data science model output into applications and other user-facing workflows. 
  • Partner with project managers, engineers, and business teams to understand analytical needs and deliver impactful solutions. 
  • Participate in planning meetings, standups, and sprint reviews to ensure alignment with project goals. 
  • Works closely with data science vendors, provides directives and feedback relevant to model development and maintenance. 
  • Collaborate with infrastructure engineers on administration for our data science platform. 

Data Governance & Ethics: 

  • Ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance with industry regulations, especially in healthcare. 
  • Follow best practices in responsible AI and ethical machine learning development. 
  • Explores opportunities for improved data collection methods and sources to improve existing features or create new ones. 

Continuous Learning & Innovation: 

  • Stay updated on emerging trends, tools, and technologies in data science and AI. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve analytics, modeling accuracy, and efficiency. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree or certification preferred. 
  • 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a related role. 
  • Proficiency or previous experience with Dataiku. 
  • Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, R or Julia. 
  • Experience with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, including expertise in tools like Fivetran, DBT, Tableau, and Microsoft SQL Server technologies (T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS). 
  • Experience with data transformation, preparation, cleaning, and visualization. 
  • Familiarity with NLP or LLMs. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to design efficient solutions for complex data challenges. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or similar regulated environments is a plus.
