Our client is a state-of-the-art instrument and consumables company selling primarily to the hospital clinical diagnostic
and core labs and smaller and community clinical labs. They are looking for a Business Development Specialist -
diagnostic instruments, consumables, and reagents. 
Based in Southwestern ON - West of Mississauga to Windsor and Northern ON up to  the MB border.
Emphasis on new account generation and retention or existing customers.
 
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Generate new business while retaining existing major clients.
  • Maintain multiple levels of strategic contacts within these accounts.
  • Deal with quotations, RFP's, contracts, and tenders.
  • Attend and represent company at meetings and shows.
  • Provide forecasts and reports using Salesforce.com.
TERRITORY:
  • Western Ontario.
  • Home office based, with local travel to customer sites.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • B.Sc. or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of hands-on successful business development  / sales experience, preferably in the niche Hospital Clinical Lab Diagnostics Laboratory sector.
  • Have a list of key personal contacts / decision makers in the territory.
  • Able to make an impact, and handle longer sales cycles.
  • Outstanding sales and bus dev track record of interest.
  • Strong leadership skills and highly motivated to succeed and work autonomously.
  • Proactive, able to be strategic, take initiative, prioritize, team player.
  • Strong technical scientific background.
  • Need to understand customer needs and be able to summon up information and resources to satisfy these requirements.
  • Excellent customer relationship management.
  • Experience with MS software.
  • Any Salesforce.com experience an asset.
  • Living in Western Ontario.
  • Very strong English communication skills and sparkling personality. lol
