Our client is a state-of-the-art instrument and consumables company selling primarily to the
hospital
clinical diagnostic
and core labs and smaller and community clinical labs. They are looking for a Business Development Specialist -
diagnostic instruments, consumables, and reagents.
Based in Southwestern ON - West of Mississauga to Windsor and Northern ON up to the MB border.
Emphasis on new account generation and retention or existing customers.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generate new business while retaining existing major clients.
Maintain multiple levels of strategic contacts within these accounts.
Deal with quotations, RFP's, contracts, and tenders.
Attend and represent company at meetings and shows.
Provide forecasts and reports using Salesforce.com.
TERRITORY:
Western Ontario.
Home office based, with local travel to customer sites.
REQUIREMENTS:
B.Sc. or equivalent experience.
5 years of hands-on successful business development / sales experience, preferably in the niche Hospital Clinical Lab Diagnostics Laboratory sector.
Have a list of key personal contacts / decision makers in the territory.
Able to make an impact, and handle longer sales cycles.
Outstanding sales and bus dev track record of interest.
Strong leadership skills and highly motivated to succeed and work autonomously.
Proactive, able to be strategic, take initiative, prioritize, team player.
Strong technical scientific background.
Need to understand customer needs and be able to summon up information and resources to satisfy these requirements.
Excellent customer relationship management.
Experience with MS software.
Any Salesforce.com experience an asset.
Living in Western Ontario.
Very strong English communication skills and sparkling personality. lol
