What Success Looks Like in this Role:

In the role of VSL Video Editor & Motion Graphics Specialist at Pearl West Group, success is defined by producing engaging, high-converting VSL content that drives measurable business results.

A successful VSL Video Editor & Motion Graphics Specialist will create VSL content that achieves over a 2 return on ad spend at scale. This means the video needs to be edited in a way that is highly engaging and makes the viewer want to continue watching. 

This would include use of motion graphics to keep the viewer engaged and ensure they can digest the content with ease. 

Other metrics that we will assess your success on will be hook rate, hold rate, average video play time, and CPA. 

Below are the benchmarks for success across those metrics:

  • Hook rate: 25% +
  • Hold rate: 30% +
  • Average video play time: 15 seconds +
  • CPA: < $50

In order to be successful, there are a few key requirements that a candidate must have.
These requirements are:

  • Proven experience in video editing with a portfolio showcasing previous work on VSLs.
  • Expertise in motion graphics and animation using software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of video formats, resolutions, and file formats for different platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
  • Creativity in designing engaging and visually compelling content.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a remote team.
  • Ability to use stock videos effectively
  • Create visually engaging motion graphics and animations that enhance storytelling and product messaging.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure video content aligns with the brand’s tone, strategy, and performance objectives.
  • Adapt videos to different formats, ensuring the highest quality for various platforms, including social media and landing pages.
  • Knowledge of direct response video editing
  • Work efficiently under deadlines to deliver edits on time.

We are a fast paced environment and will expect fast delivery. 

With 5 brands in our portfolio, we are looking for a video editor who can deliver a minimum of 10-15 VSLs per week while maintaining high quality standards. 

A successful candidate will not only deliver high-quality videos but will also continuously analyze and iterate on performance to exceed key metrics.
 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

The following are the key performance indicators that will measure your success:

  1. Achieve an average of 2 ROAS at scale across all VSLs
  2. Achieve listed benchmark metrics on each individual video shown above. 
  3. Deliver 10-15 VSLs weekly 
 

Primary Activities:

  1. Edit and produce Video Sales Letters (VSLs)
  2. Create visually engaging motion graphics and animations to enhance storytelling.
  3. Design opening sequences, transitions, and call-to-action elements tailored to each campaign.
  4. Communicate with analytics teams to refine videos based on performance data.
  5. Experiment with AI-powered tools and automation to enhance workflow and optimize production time.

Regular Work Activities:

  • Review briefs and competitor examples to develop effective video strategies.
  • Edit raw footage and implement direct-response editing techniques to drive conversion.
  • Design and animate graphics, titles, and text overlays to maintain audience attention.
  • Optimize video content for platform-specific requirements, including file formats and resolutions.
  • Maintain an organized repository of assets, templates, and project files.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to incorporate feedback and ensure videos meet campaign needs.
  • Monitor and analyze video performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Update existing video assets to align with updated branding or new marketing initiatives.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
