Role
Weβre on the look-out for a talented and motivated individual with demonstrable track record of editing tech content (software or hardware), to join our team as a Tech Content Editor.
The ideal candidate is familiar with tech verticals such as VPN and antivirus software, spy apps, employer of record services, and is capable of contributing to our content operations in an editing capacity.
The main responsibility revolves around editing and refreshing long-form evergreen articles to prioritize user value for our readers and withing the confines of our internal guidelines and requirements.
The role reports to the Managing Editor for the Tech hub, who reports directly to the Executive editor.
Core Tasks
- Research & become familiar with the main revenue-driving verticals and the products therein, as well as with any vertical we might cover
- Update articles according to EEAT guidelines and internal requirements to maximize helpfulness and user value
- Use SEO tools & analytics to guide topic research
- Action findings from the Managing Editor and/or Executive Editor
- Brief tasks for tech writers
- Edit and publish writersβ drafts, offer feedback to writers, and also report on writer performance
- On occasion, create engaging and informative content related to the tech industry
- Optimize on-page elements such as meta tags, headings, and content to improve user experience and search engine visibility.
- Research relevant topics and stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the tech industry, and specifically the verticals we cover
- Conduct competitor research analysis to establish user intent and determine elements that add user value for specific topics
- Report on competitor strengths as necessary
- Ensure that all content meets our editorial standards, including style, tone and voice.
Must have requirements
Proficient or knowledgeable in:
- Tech industry and topics, ideally have a good understanding of the most used software and hardware
- Optimal tech content writing and editing β should be able to write & edit drafts for clarity, accuracy, user value, and also fact-check
- WordPress as a publishing platform, ideally both classic editor & block editor
- Able to analyze competitor content strategies and report on strengths and opportunities
Nice to have requirements
- Previous experience with affiliate content in the tech niche
- Familiarity with keyword & topic-related SEO research
- Good understanding of effective copy & content best practices
- Success in mentoring writers

- Good people skills
- 2-3 years experience as an editor, ideally at least one year as a tech editor
- Senior editors welcome, we can turn this into a senior editor position for the right candidate
Aim for the first 3 month's
- An average of two long-form drafts edited per day or the equivalent -- ~8000 words worth of editing per day or equivalent hourly work in refreshes, updates, or admin work
