Staff Accountant - HYBRID Description

Our client, a small financial advisory firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team in St. Louis, Missouri.  Working with a Controller, you will complete detailed accounting reviews for various clients, up to five at a time, most of which are very progressive, high-growth startups.  The ideal candidate will be very knowledgeable of GAAP accounting principles and thrive in an ever-changing environment. To be successful, you must be able to change gears quickly while prioritizing client needs, make recommendations to improve client accounting practices, and utilize your strong communication skills to provide top-notch client service. Staff Accountant - HYBRID Responsibilities

•    Complete detailed accounting reviews across multiple clients
•    Complete an analysis to identify post-close changes
•    Reconcile transactions and bank statements 
•    Identify and suggest controls or changes to improve accounting practices
•    Review client data for expenses that should be capitalized
•    Review and adjust accruals as needed 
•    Record or verify the accuracy of client payroll 
•    Support clients with technical navigation of accounting systems 

Staff Accountant - HYBRID Qualifications

•    Bachelor's Degree required 
•    3+ years of accounting experience required 
•    Knowledge of general ledger and GAAP accounting practices required
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, etc.
