Staff Accountant

HumanHire is partnered with one of the top hospitals in Queens in search of a Staff Accountant.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This role involves managing core accounting activities, ensuring compliance with reporting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial goals through meticulous analysis and reporting. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional organizational skills, and experience in the healthcare sector.

What we offer:

• Salary: $75,000 - $85,000/year
• Location: Queens, NY
• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Benefits: comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan

Responsibilities:

• Maintain detailed records of fixed assets, projects under construction, and capital lease agreements.
• Oversee the management and tracking of prepaid expenses.
• Prepare and review detailed schedules and general ledger reports for monthly and annual financial closings.
• Record monthly journal entries and ensure account balances are reconciled.
• Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and support.
• Conduct account reviews and prepare associated work documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or similar field
• Accounting experience in a healthcare setting (hospital preferred)
• Proficient in Excel
