Check is revolutionizing the payroll landscape with cutting-edge financial software designed to simplify and enhance payroll processes for businesses across various industries. Central to this revolution is our Finance team, which plays a pivotal role in ensuring our financial operations are accurate, efficient, and transparent. From managing key vendor relationships and ensuring timely payments to reconciling accounts, our Finance team is the backbone of our financial integrity. Join us as a key player in our Finance team, where you will have the chance to directly impact our financial operations, help scale our processes, and uphold the highest standards of financial accountability.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare monthly analyses and reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts on a timely basis, ensuring reconciling items are resolved.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and promptly.
  • Handle vendor and customer inquiries regarding invoicing and payments
  • Prepare supporting documentation for any audits
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis

Many backgrounds could fit this role, but ideal candidates will have some or all of the following:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA is a plus
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP required
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; dependable with deliverables and deadlines, able to multitask
  • Confidence, good judgment, self-motivation, energy, and personality to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to attend our annual 3-day company offsite in the fall

Travel and Office Policy

The Check team is distributed across the US and we have offices in New York City and San Francisco. While we welcome remote work, we believe time together in person is valuable and important. We offer ample opportunities and encourage employees to attend team offsites, events, and hackathons a couple of times a year! We expect all employees to be willing to attend our annual 3-day company offsite in the fall.  

For our in-office and hybrid employees, our offices are open all week. We provide meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the team hosts regular happy hours, game nights, etc. 

What we offer: 

For full-time employees, Check offers company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, short-term/long-term disability, and basic life insurance coverage, effective on their first day of work. We also provide stock options, flexible PTO and sick leave, 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all new parents, flexible return-to-work, 9 annual holidays, a 401k retirement plan, and a $100 monthly stipend for home internet and mobile phone expenses.

The actual annual salary for this role is dependent on each candidate’s experience, qualifications, and work location:

  • The expected range in San Francisco, NYC, LA, and Seattle is between $110,000 and $121,000. 
  • The expected range for all other locations is between $93,500 and $102,850.
