Software Developer

Our team works collaboratively building a world-class payments orchestration platform that provides our clients with extensive capabilities, technologies, and services to accept payments in an optimized fashion.  

BlueSnap is looking for a team player to join the growing global R&D team in the US.

You will expand the current capabilities of the BlueSnap award winning e-Commerce platform, participate in building the next generation of BlueSnap services state of the art web development frameworks, and get involved in how the global online payments business works, including SaaS, targeted solutions and more. 

The suitable candidate is a self-driven individual with high planning, coding and troubleshooting capabilities.

This position is located in Waltham, MA with the option to work a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and implement new software programs
• Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
• Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
• Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization
• Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary       

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3-5 years of professional experience in software development and Java programming
• Proven experience with frameworks like Spring and Hibernate ORM
• Working knowledge of SQL, HTTP/REST, XML, JSON, HTML, JS
• Familiarity with technologies such as Log4j, ActiveMQ, Ehcache, JQuery
• Experience with full-stack development, including both front-end and back-end technologies
• Experience with software optimization and performance tuning
• Ability to take ownership of projects and work independently, while also being a strong team player
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and troubleshooting complex systems
• Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business
• Strong attention to details, ability to meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of planning, managing and successfully completing projects
