Purpose of this position.

The purpose of this role is to service our existing customers and provide the best customer service and support in order to grow both our customers’ sales and Idemitsu’s sales. We need account managers to educate our customers about the benefit and advantages of Idemitsu branded products. In addition, we also want need account managers to find us new business opportunities.

What you’ll be doing.

  • Account management and business development – provide customer service, sales support, and training to each assigned account.  Identify new opportunities and present solutions to grow the business.  Identify new business opportunities/customers, including but not limited to wholesale distributors, jobbers, installers, quick lubes, retailers, and dealerships.
  • Perform sales calls with our distributors’ sales reps and educate them on the value of Idemitsu branded products. Meet with our customers’ management team occasionally.
  • Gather market data, including competitor’s pricing, programs, and promotions in the U.S. Brainstorm and execute proper strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Work with other ILA departments to increase efficiency and provide the best customer service and experience to our customers.
  • Travel 40-50%

What you’ll need to be a successful (external job title) OR The qualified professional we seek is a (external job title) with these qualifications:

  • 5+ years in Account Management working for an automotive parts or lubricants manufacturer supplying aftermarket parts to wholesale distributors.
  • Must have experience working for an automotive parts or lubricants manufacturer selling to wholesale distributors.
  • BA/BS (technical degree/business/marketing/sales) or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience in creating and launching effective sales promotions, while being able to calculate the return on investment.
  • Knowledge of managing wholesale distributors, buying groups, and national retailers as a customer.
