Meet the team:
We are seeking an experienced Public Relations Communications Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team across Australia and New Zealand. As a Communications Specialist, you'll develop and implement effective communication strategies and campaigns to promote our organisation's mission, brand, and initiatives. You'll also lead our Dexcom Warriors Program. If you have a passion for storytelling and a knack for crafting impactful messages, this role is perfect for you. You'll work across multiple channels, including PR, advertising, Dexcom Warriors/Advocacy, Sponsorships, social media, and Market Access.
Where you come in:
- You will develop and execute comprehensive communication plans and strategies to enhance brand awareness and promote organisational goals.
- You will manage all company PR activities and coordinate with external PR agencies.
- You will create engaging and persuasive content for various channels, including press releases, media pitches, articles, emails, newsletters, blog posts, social media, website updates, and internal/external communications.
- You will manage the Dexcom Warrior program and implement new strategies alongside the Marketing Management Team to engage new Dexcom Warriors and raise awareness of diabetes and our product range.
- You will build and maintain relationships with influencers, stakeholders, and key organisations to secure coverage and partnerships.
- You will assist in crisis communication management, including drafting statements and coordinating responses with our PR agency.
- You will help manage the organisation's social media presence and develop strategies to increase engagement and followers.
- You will coordinate events, such as press conferences, product launches, and community outreach programs, in collaboration with our events team.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
- You will liaise with advertising companies to prepare detail aids, leaflets, posters, and other materials alongside our graphic designers.
- You will distribute materials to healthcare professionals and consumers through appropriate mediums.
- You will collect and analyse target audience behaviour data to assist in implementing new strategies across brands.
- You will work closely with different cross-functional areas within the company and global teams to ensure all communications, PR, and social media activities are managed and approved, including regulatory, education, market access, management, global teams, and legal.
- You will manage all sponsorships for AMSL Diabetes and work closely with regulatory, legal, and medical approvers.
- You will implement and suggest new social media trends and initiatives alongside the Marketing Management Team.
- You will create regular reports, monitor and analyse communication activities to assess effectiveness, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- You will stay updated on industry trends and best practices in communication and marketing.
- You will ensure that all communication distributed is compliant and meets the requirements of the company and regulatory bodies, including branding guidelines, industry codes of conduct (MTAA, MTANZ), and relevant laws and legislation (TGA, ACC, Medsafe, Spam acts).
What makes you successful:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- You have proven experience working as a Communications Specialist or in a similar role.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- You possess strong storytelling, content creation, and optimisation abilities.
- You are proficient in using various communication tools and platforms.
- You have a solid understanding of social media platforms and their use for brand promotion.
- You can work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in crisis communication and reputation management is a plus.
