Frontier Psychiatry aims to improve the emotional, behavioral, and physical well-being of rural communities by delivering scalable, timely, and evidence-based interventions in psychiatry and addiction medicine. Since its launch in March 2020, Frontier Psychiatry has expanded its telehealth services across the west coast with future plans to expand across additional states. Our long-term goal is to be the solution to the mental health and addiction crisis in rural America, expanding our footprint by two states per year for the next six years.



GENERAL DESCRIPTION

As a Medical Billing Specialist at Frontier Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in the revenue cycle management process. You will be responsible for accurately processing medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement for healthcare services rendered. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Review and verify patient demographics and insurance information to ensure accuracy.

  • Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies in a timely manner.

  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, identify reasons for denials, and take appropriate action to resolve issues.

  • Investigate and reconcile billing discrepancies and discrepancies to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.

  • Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts accurately and promptly.

  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances to facilitate timely payment.

  • Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to address billing inquiries and resolve issues.

  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations, billing guidelines, and insurance policies to ensure compliance.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all billing-related activities




 EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience as a medical biller or similar role in a healthcare setting.

  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

  • Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, including CPT and ICD-10 coding, insurance claim submission, and reimbursement processes.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve billing-related issues efficiently.
