The Position



As an Insurance Follow-Up Specialist at Cardiac Study Center, you are pivotal in maintaining the financial health of our organization. Your role ensures that billing and reimbursements are handled accurately and efficiently, providing vital support to our fiscal operations. By managing complex billing issues, appeals, and communications with insurance companies, you directly contribute to our ability to offer top-notch patient care.

Your Day-to-Day work



  • Manage follow-up work queues in Epic, addressing denials, no responses, and claims for all payers.

  • Resolve insurance denials through phone calls or insurance portals and issue Coordination of Benefits (COB) letters to patients.

  • Correct patient registration errors to ensure accurate claim processing and collaborate with the coding team on appeals and coding issues.

  • Follow up on internal correspondence, including medical record requests and insurance plan updates.

  • Participate in monthly billing meetings, payer/insurance meetings, and team huddles, ensuring timely communication and collaboration.



Environment and Shift details:



This role is full-time, 40 hours/ week, Monday – Friday—closed weekends and holidays.


This remote role is only available to candidates within Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.




Experience


Must-Haves (Candidates without the experience below may or may not be considered)


  • Educational Background: High School Diploma or GED

  • Licensing: No licensure is needed for this position

  • Certification: No certification is needed for this position

  • Experience: Ideally, you have 1-3 years of direct experience

  • Knowledge: To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience with medical terminology, medical billing practices, clinic operations, accounts receivable practices, ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding


Nice-to-Haves (You will still be considered, even if you don't have the experience below)


  • Specialized Experience: 1 year of experience in cardiology

  • Clinical Experience: 1 year of experience in a clinical setting



Pay and Benefit Expectations



The pay scale for this position is $19.20 - $34.80 USD.


However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
