The Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in assisting and streamlining the human resource processes for all Deringer colleagues. This position offers administrative support to the HR function, focusing on HRIS entry and configuration, aiding payroll, and collaborating with the Senior Human Resources Generalist, along with standard HR reporting and auditing tasks. Additionally, this role will contribute to colleague engagement initiatives and facilitation of recognition programs. As an entry-level position, it offers significant opportunities for future growth and a career path within a skilled Human Resources team.


Job Responsibilities: 


Accurately input data into the HRIS for new hires, terminations, and updates such as job changes, promotions, and salary modifications.


Help maintain the HR Intranet by refreshing content, including welcome messages for new team members and recognizing monthly anniversaries.


Work alongside the HR team to organize colleague engagement initiatives.


Assist colleagues by resolving user issues and tickets related to UKGPro.


Generate ad hoc reports and dashboards to deliver HR analytics.


Organize documents into the correct employee files, utilizing all available electronic filing systems.


Maintain a high standard of service for colleagues, management, and external agencies.


Collaborate with Payroll to:





    • Maintain, audit, and troubleshoot timekeeping systems.

    • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and verify confirmed reports.

    • Understand the correct taxation of employer-paid benefits.




Process accurate HRIS changes to ensure compliance


Support Payroll with time management and auditing needs.


Work with Senior Human Resources Generalist and HRIS Partner to consistently monitor and audit configuration or process changes within the system through regular data audits.


Engage in cross training for additional responsibilities.


Coordinate and oversee special projects as assigned.


Travel:


This position is flexible and can be fully remote or hybrid at our St. Albans location. Our HR team gathers in person at our St. Albans, VT headquarters once every quarter, and we would prefer the selected candidate to be within a reasonable travel distance, if possible.


Education and Experience:


A high school diploma (or GED equivalent) along with two years of administrative or Human Resources experience, or a similar combination of experience, is necessary.


Although HR certification is preferred, it is not a requirement.
