Job Description Summary

The Health & Welfare Accountant is a newly created role for GE Vernova. This position will be responsible for key accounting and reporting processes associated with GE Vernova Health and Welfare Plans (Medical, Pharmacy, Life, and more), focused on US Based Employees & Retirees.
The role will require partnering with Total Rewards, Legal, People Ops, HR, and Treasury to agree on the GE Vernova strategy, then execution culminating in an efficient and effective process.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities 

The US Health and Welfare Accountant will be responsible for the following: 

·       Accounting lead for Retiree Health & Life (RH&L) valuation 

·       Monthly JE’s & FAS 158 workpaper 

·       Hyperion updates 

·       Census file review/reconciliation 

·       10-K/10-Q tie-out 

·       Lead contact for Deloitte review 

·       MARVAL 

·       Prepare quarterly EBNI calculations 

·       Assist with preparing monthly ledger over/under analysis 

·       CAVOL process owner including annual filings 

·       Owner of monthly contributions process 

·       Owner of pay-all life insurance plans 

·       Prepare quarterly PCORI accrual & billing 

·       Union negotiations – support pricing analysis & cost model 

·       Account rec / JE/ wire prep & review 

Qualifications/Requirements 

·       Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance. CPA preferred, not required. 

·       Knowledge of US ERISA law and other DOL regulatory requirements; experience managing and accounting for US-based health and welfare programs 

·       8+ years of experience in accounting or finance 

·       Experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, Hyperion, TORCH), strong Excel skills. 

·       Clear thinking / strong problem solving able to work independently; manage multiple tasks. 

·       Strong communication skills: experience working across multiple levels, functions, and regions 

·       Integrity: Adherence to high moral and ethical values in decisions, communications, and actions 

·       You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background. 

·       You must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

The base pay range for this position is $95,300 – $158,800. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10% performance bonus. This posting is expected to close on 2nd December 202.
