Key responsibilities:
- Edit copy with a particular focus on accuracy and the logic of the reporting, ensuring the copy is easy to understand and corrections are avoided.
- Edit copy according to the requirements of the business
- Develop the ability to determine whether the text of reports supports the price assessments
- Ensure style is enforced and legal problems are identified
- Identify opportunities within the copy for alternative ways of presenting the story β infographics, tables or graphs β and create/edit such elements using data visualization software
- Complete work quickly and to deadlines
- Keep accurate and comprehensive records of editorial metrics
- Complete layout tasks in InDesign to a high standard
- Some travel may be involved
Experience Required:
- Bachelorβs or Graduate degree in English, communications, journalism, business, science or related fields
- Professional experience in a communications or publishing environment
- Expert user of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Basic knowledge of page-layout software
- Proficiency with the Adobe suite (InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop) is a plus
- Experience using content management systems (CMS) is a plus
- Experience using Tableau and Infogram is a plus
- Knowledge of energy (oil & gas), chemicals or aerospace industries is a plus. Has confidence when dealing with figures, such as financial results or commodities pricing
- Fluency in Spanish (writing and speaking) is a plus
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the US
