Overview

This position sits within our Content division which identifies and publishes accurate and relevant project data for our software solutions.

 

The Opportunity         

The Content Data Analyst plays an integral role in driving growth & prioritizing resource allocation.  Whether it is producing new reports, tracking performance metrics, or building forecast models, the data analyst is relied upon to produce information that is used by business leaders to make strategic decisions.  As part of an operations team that is constantly evolving, analysts are intensely focused on process improvements & organizational optimization.  In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, Content data analysts place a significant importance on continuous learning/development by devoting time towards training on Business Intelligence tools, SQL, Python, etc.

Analysts should possess both analytical rigor as well as a strategic mindset, allowing them to be detail-oriented, but also see the big picture.  Candidates should be highly motivated and have a desire continuously learn & develop their skillsets.  Strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential as this individual will work with a wide variety of stakeholders to drive adoption, generate valuable data insights across Content and be a responsible administrator/owner of the BI tool.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Ownership of monthly reporting deliverables, including reporting to Content managers and senior leaders
  • Improve reporting processes/capabilities through use of advanced tools (PowerQuery, SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Understand and manage downstream impacts of code changes
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and improving BI reports
  • Learn and master the existing data warehouse structure and work closely with Developers and DBAs to understand ongoing cloud warehouse build
  • Maintain and document setup, configuration, and security of business intelligence related software
  • Review and update standards, processes, and policy to ensure a stable and reliable Power BI environment
  • Support end user access and understanding of BI environment, facilitate training needs, promote development of self-service capabilities
  • Educate stakeholders on value and use of information and operational data to help maximize the benefit of BI systems
  • Build reporting dashboards through PowerBI to drive visibility into key metrics
  • Build forecast models in support of critical business initiatives (ex. New product models, headcount, etc.)
  • Work on cross-functional projects with Sales, Product Development, IT, etc.
  • Lead process improvement opportunities across Content & other functions

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance/accounting, or data analytics
  • 2+ years of experience with BI Tools (Power BI preferred)
  • 1+ years of experience with SQL scripting
  • Advanced analytics, forecasting/modeling, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Understanding of PowerQuery, PowerPivot, and PowerBI
  • History of implementing process improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively deal with ambiguity
  • Strong desire to learn & continuously develop skillsets
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Strong teamwork & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly; use data to communicate a call-to-action, communicate technical information to nontechnical audience; accept and quickly respond to business changes; must readily adapt to changes in workload and additional time commitments
  • Handles sensitive and confidential data/information

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • This position is fully remote with only occasional travel to the office for team meetings and events. Team members are expected to have an established workspace.
  • Ability to work remotely in the United States or Canada.
