Rise Sports Collective is a start-up company delivering the power of learning to the business of sports. We provide teams, leagues, vendors, and universities with comprehensive courses on topics spanning Ticketing, Stadium Operations, Food & Beverage, Fan Experience, Strategy & Analytics, Marketing, and more.
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Business Development VP / Director to lead our sales initiatives and expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales within the sports industry, demonstrating exceptional lead generation and deal negotiation skills.
As a senior member of our team, you will spearhead the development of new business opportunities and strategic partnerships. This role offers the chance to significantly impact our growth trajectory and enhance our profile in the Sports and EdTech fields.
Key Responsibilities:
The Business Development VP / Director will be able to handle multiple priorities and involved with many facets of the company, including:
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute innovative sales strategies to enhance business growth and market penetration.
- Partnership Development: Forge strong relationships with key industry players (e.g., professional sports teams, leagues, universities, etc.) and negotiate strategic partnerships that align with our business goals.
- Market Expansion: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify and generate new business opportunities.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the leadership, finance, operations, and curriculum development teams to align sales strategies with overall company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Sales Expertise: 5+ years of B2B sales experience with demonstrated ability to drive sales and develop successful business strategies.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for Sports: A deep passion for and understanding of the professional sports landscape.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to succeed with limited supervision in a remote environment.

Compensation:
Base salary of $80,000 - $100,000 / year, depending on skills, experience, and location.
Significant commission compensation depending on achievement of sales goals.
