We are looking for a Senior Accountant of Statutory and International Compliance to drive our global financial reporting and make impactful improvements in international reporting processes. In this role, you’ll be a key financial professional responsible for ensuring compliance across the Company’s large international footprint. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including external accounting advisors and external auditors, to maintain accurate international financial reporting and statutory compliance. Successful candidates will possess a combination of strong international accounting and reporting knowledge and an ability to dive into unknown problems and devise solutions. This position will report to the Senior Director of Finance and Accounting and will also support the Director of Tax in various day-to-day requirements of the tax team. The successful candidate will have a "roll-up-the-sleeves'' attitude, be able to multitask, and be willing to learn and thrive in a very fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the monthly close and consolidation process for our international entities, ensuring a thorough review of local and intercompany journal entries, reconciliations, and critical financial analyses.
Lead coordination with our international accounting advisors to support the preparation, review, and filing of statutory financial statements for overseas operations, maintaining compliance with local standards.
Lead coordination of the external audit process for international entities, serving as the primary liaison with the audit team to ensure a timely and accurate completion of the audit.
Provide support for the global indirect tax compliance process through the preparation and review of work papers and calculations required for the external preparation and filing of VAT returns.
Provide support for the month and quarter-end close process, including recording indirect tax entries, and preparing account reconciliations and roll forwards
Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial reporting process
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license (or equivalent)
4+ years of accounting experience
IFRS experience required, other local GAAP preferred
Proactive work ethic, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong organization, time management, and project management skills
Agility to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate complex accounting concepts
Ability to work cross-functionally to obtain all relevant facts, understand the business requirements, articulate the accounting requirements, and communicate the conclusions reached
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with NetSuite and Workiva software preferred, although not required
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills required
